by Kelly Krieger, April 15th, 2005

On Saturday, April 16th, The Stephen Talkhouse will host the Nancy Atlas Project CD Release Party. This will be the band's first release in 4 years. The CD, entitled "Matador", has been a collaborative effort that loyal friends and fans have been patiently awaiting.

Perhaps it all began at the age of three when she started to play the piano for the first time? Wherever her passion for creating music stems from, her fans are grateful for it.

If you have never heard The Nancy Atlas Project live in concert, you're in for a hell-of-a good time. This talented singer/songwriter and accomplished musician is the front person for good reason. Her dynamic stage presence and relationship with the audience says it all. The Nancy Atlas Project is one fo the most popular bands on the East End.

And when it comes to Montauk, Nancy loves it and Montauk loves her back. During the summer months you can catch her playing on a weekly basis at Nicks on the Beach. But all year round the band plays at various venues and the Talkhouse is definitely the favorite.

The latest CD "Matador" has been co-produced by Nancy Atlas and Cynthia Daniels and includes 12 tracks, all written by Nancy. The CD begins with the track Love is Suicide and moves onto Shout, Good Day, and American Girl just to name a few. The previous CD "Swagger" made a big splash with songs that many of us sing along to such as Boots and Whiskey in a Wheatfeild.

Nancy has gravitated to the East End for many reasons, but mostly she finds musical inspiration. Our little neck of the woods is filled to the brim with talented artists, writers and yes... musicians. Whether it's the beauty, the people, the beach or all three, there are endless reasons why it serves as an inspirtational Petri Dish for raw talent. On the new album you'll find many love songs that Nancy credits to the love of her life and ultimate companion.

So if you want to enjoy a night of dancing and rocking out don't miss the oppurtunity to celebrate the release of "Matador" at the Stephen Talkhouse.
